 | Hotel Ambos Mundos
Calle Obispo No. 153 esq. a Mercaderes Old Havana City
 | On the corner of Obispo and Mercaderes streets in Old Havana stands the Ambos Mundos Hotel, a building of eclectic architecture finished in 1923. It was reformed and enlarged in 1924 and 1930. At the beginning of the 1930s, U.S. writer Ernest Hemmingway stayed in the hotel, where he wrote "Fishing Chronicles" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls". About the hotel he said: "...it was a good place to write..." The room where Hemingway always stayed was turned into a small museum on the writer's life. |

Her widow Antònia Aranda and Avellaneda, daughter of the mayor of the Castle of San Salvador de la Punta, extended the project and asked the contractor whom in the place of yard of the main house an interpretation of the house to small scale since called " Small House ". Finished in 1739. |
